Located in the town of Rocklin, Whitney Ranch was designed to be a family-focused community. The efforts are readily apparent with the number of parks and schools in this thriving neighborhood. While adjacent to several other communities within Rocklin, Whitney Ranch’s prime location provides easy access to 75 acres of open space and wetland preserves. The open space and a number of parks are linked together by a network of trails and paths.
The Ranch House is the central gathering place for residents, where they can use the pool to escape the valley heat in the summer months and where special events and activities take place throughout the year. Whitney Ranch Community Park is a planned 40-acre park with lighted sports fields for soccer, baseball, and softball, playgrounds, and a water area. The park is also home to an Audubon Demonstration Garden, showcasing native plants and flowers.
Several other small neighborhood parks with playgrounds and half-court basketball courts allow everyone easy access to recreation with less chance of crowding.
For less outdoorsy residents, there’s laser tag, mini-golf, batting cages, indoor go-
karts, Skyzone, and Bounce U. Roseville is also home to some of the region’s finest shopping. The Westfield Galleria and Fountains Shopping Center house everything from Apple and Tiffany to Sur La Table and Whole Foods. All the larger stores (Macy’s, REI, Costco) are within mere minutes of Roseville’s main shopping area.
Whitney Ranch is not without its own commercial merits and conveniences - fitness centers, coffee shops, and restaurants abound and the Blue Oaks Marketplace is home to a 16-screen theatre, as well as a weekly Saturday farmers’ market from June through November.
A number of schools are located just minutes from Whitney Ranch, but Sunset Ranch Elementary, Granite Oaks Middle School, and Whitney High School are all located within the Whitney Ranch neighborhood. The schools are part of the esteemed Rocklin Unified School District. Residents of Rocklin can also take advantage of the city’s many recreational offerings, including Kids Junction and Club Rocklin, a before and after-school recreation program that operates on all Rocklin Elementary School campuses.
